Kilkenny had two winners at the Irish Nationals, held in Belfast at the weekend. In the Mens A Grade Ciáran Neary played top class handball to claim the title. On his way to victory, Ciáran gained some satisfaction for his Intermediate Doubles loss last weekend when he defeated Johnny Woods (Tyrone), 21-14, 21-7 in the semi final and then had a comprehensive 15-7, 15-14 win over Michael Hedigan (Cork) in the final.
Duxie Walsh continued his dominance of the Masters grade when he powered to victory. The Talbots Inch star was in dominant form all the way through and easily accounted for Sean Devine (Antrim), 15-5,15-6 in the final.
In the Mens C division, Mick Conville (St.Patricks) reached the plate final where he lost out to his Tipperary opponent.
