GAA Showdown Postponement

A chara,
jpegA decision has been made by the GAA Irish Handball Council to postpone the forthcoming GAA Handball Inter-Provincial Showdown, which had been scheduled for Saturday 29th January.
The event was initially to be staged pre-Christmas but due to difficulties this was put back until the end of January date. However, due to clashes with a number of other high profile GAA events around the country, a decision has been made to move this eagerly awaited occasion back until later in the year.
This will also see the GAA Havin a Ball Initiative moved back to co-incide with the new GAA Handball Showdown Date and full details will be distributed following the next Coiste Bainistí Meeting of the GAA Handball Council. It is expected that the new date will be after the end of the 60x30 Softball season in 2011.

I would also like to remind everyone of the continued new TV Handball Series on TG4 - Every Monday night at 8.30pm. There has been a huge audience already for this and it has proven to be a phenomenal platform to showcase all our games, clubs and people behind the scenes which has had a hugely significant impact on the profile of our sport nationally. I hope you are enjoying the coverage and am excited by the response from TG4 in relation to future plans for coverage of handball on the channel in the build-up to the Worlds in 2012.

Is mise le meas,
