The first set of All Ireland 60 x 30 finals provided a lot more disappointment than success for Kilkenny players. The Kilfane club had a number of players in finals but unfortunately they all came out losing their matches. On Saturday, Aoife Holden lost her Minor Singles decider to Fiona Tully (Roscommon) in three sets,21-17,17-21,21-5, while on Sunday there was further disappointment at Ballina, Tipperary when two more club players lost their matches. In Masters B Singles, Billy O'Keeffe was beaten by Galway's Prionsias Maughan and in Ladies Intermediate Singles, Rachel Hogan lost to the impressive Ciana Ni Churraoin, also from Galway. To complete a disappointing day at the Tipperary venue, Kirsty Maher (Kells) lost to another Galwegian, Janet Connaughton in the Ladies Junior B Singles decider.
Kilkenny's only All Ireland success at the weekend was in Masters Singles where Ducksy Walsh reversed his 40 x  20 loss to David Moloney (Tipperary), winning in two sets, 21-11, 21-6.
In the Boys U14/15 All Ireland Team final, the Kilkenny team of Robert Dowling, Jack Kerins, Michael Power, Kieran Buckley,Shane Fahy, Joe Cowhig and Conor Hobin lost to Cork, 90-40.
