All Ireland Junior Singles Winner

William Love played Jerome Willoughby from Wicklow in the Leinster Final. William won the first game 21-18 but the second game saw the Wicklow man take it 21-18, the third game saw William pull out all the stops winning convincly 21-4. The All Ireland semi final William travelled to Bofield, Co. Mayo to play Ciaran Burke from Mayo, the game was evenly contested with William winning in two games 21-17 21-19 earning a place in the All Ireland Junior Singles Final. The All Ireland Final was held in Kells, Co. Meath. After a tense start William settled in to the Game at 8 all, he got his game together to win the first 21-11. The second game followed the same pattern and was close until 7 all when once again William started to pull away, he had a huge task breaking down the very fit and agile Barry Devlin from Tyrone but with William’s powerful kill shots which won the game for him 21-9. The scores didn’t reflect the overall performance put up by both players. It was a very hard fought final with both players giving their all. This win gives him a distinct honour of holding Junior titles in 60x30, Hardballl and 40x20.
