Cooneys win Plate final

60x30 boys 13 and under held in Mullingar. In the first game Padraig / Ciaran Cooney Clogh played Shane Dunne Clogh and Dion Bourke Mothel, it was a pity that these two pairs ended in the one group. There was some great serving and shots from both sides with the Cooney brothers coming out on top. The next game for the Cooney pair was against Thomas Hall and Adam Hanrahan from Wexford. This proved to be a very close game to the end with the Wexford pair coming out on top 21-19. The Wexford pair also came up against Shane Dunne and Dion Bourke. The 2 Kilkenny boys gave their all and played some great handball but unfortunately were beaten by Wexford. Padraig and Ciaran Cooney went to the plate final against Fergal Coughlan and Jack Hayes Clare. The first game the Clogh pair won 15-5. The second game saw the Clare boys take an early lead and were 13-7 up when the Cooney brothers got them out and showed some great serving and displayed some great shots and even a few kills to win the second game 15-13. Both Kilkenny pairs performed very well and represented their Clubs and County with pride.
