Kilkenny players travelled to  St McCartans College, Monaghan town and Crinkill.  Co. Offaly for these finals  and brought home   3 of the 5 All Irelands they contested.

In the Boys Under 15 Singles : Kilkenny’s (Padraig Cooney) from Clogh got the Kilkenny players off to a winning start. Padraig  played some wonderful handball showing all the shills of the game. He had to dig deep  to beat a very  tough opponent in Mayo’s  (Niall Joyce) on the score of 12-15, 15-8, 15-5.

Boys Under 16 Singles : Kilkenny (John Walsh)  continued the the winning run. John is a very talented player from the Mullinavat club, he   played the game of his life when he totally outclassed     Monaghan’s  (Ramunas Ramauskas) 21-4, 21-11. The Maonghan had no answer to this very skilful Mullinavat star.

BU15DKilkenny (Sean Carey / Dylan Caulfield) pulled this game out of the fire they easily won the first game 15-11. Were coasting in the second and took the foot of the throttle. This let the Tyrone lads back in to this game and they levelled at 14 all. But  a classy kill shot by Carey gave the Kilkenny lads the edge they needed to take this title. They   defeated  Tyrone (Jack Campbell & Aaron Owens) 15-11, 15-14.

In theBoys Under 14 Singles :  a very classy Tyrone (Sean Kerr) defeated Kilkenny (Roy Cullen) 15-1, 15-6. Roy did really well to reach the final of this very competitive grade.

at Crinkle, Offaly.

Girls Under 14Singles :  Kilfane’s (Aoife Holden) represented Kilkenny in this Final . This power house player pushed the favourite all the way in this final Aoife won the 1st  game  15-13. The  Roscommon player  (Fiona Tully) won the 2nd. 15-8  the third game was a great game with both players taking  turns leading but the Roscommon Girls got the breaks to win this title 15-13.

Well done also to Niamh Dunne from Cullahill Co. Laois on reaching  the girls under 16 singles final unfortunately she lost to Galway.
