(Kells) put in a tremendous effort to
defeat Monaghan’s best (Terry McElvaney) 21-13, 21-6 This is a great Achievement for the
Kells Player Winning his first Major Singles title and in doing so stepping up to the intermediate grade. ,
in Kingscourt,Cavan, Ladies Junior B SinglesKilkenny (RacheHogan) (Kilfane ) Had to pull out all the stops to
win this Title She lost the first game to Mayo (Jennifer Fahy)
9-21, and looked in big trouble but the
grit and determination of this lass was proved when she bounced back to win the
next two games and the title 21-15, 21-14
In Silver
Masters A Singles: the ever dependable Kilkenny (Billy
Bourke) (O’Loughlins) defeated Mayo (Joe Dowling) 21-9, 21-5. He has
proved there is no age limit to class.
Juvenile Semi finals Kilkenny had mixed on Saturday 24th March in
Clarecastle, Co Clare
In 16Doubles :
Kilkenny (Emmet Landy/Brian Mahon)put in a tremendous effort to defeat Tipperary (Padraig O
Donoghue/Daniel Hayes) 21-12, 10-21, 11-6
In B15Doubles
: Kilkenny (Padraig Cooney/Niall Walsh) defeated Clare (Cathair
Agnew/Jake Kearney) 15-14,4-15, 15-12. These
two games were nail biting affairs.but the steel of the Kilkenny players
and mental preparation stood the test.
The girls
added to the wins when in G16Singles : Kilkenny (Kirsty Maher) defeated Kerry (Anna
Prendeville) 21-13, 21-3.
And G17 Doubles
: Kilkenny (Mary Buggy/Ashling Maher) defeated Limerick (Michelle Mc Carthy/Niamh Mc Carthy) 21-8,
21-5. A great showing by the Kilkenny girls. They 4 pairings will now contest
their All Ireland finals in O’Loughlins
in two weeks time.

B14S: Tipperary (Jason English) defeated Kilkenny (Shane Dunne)

B17S: Limerick (Padraig Quish) defeated Kilkenny (Brendan Hyland) 15-5, 15-5
